When you moon someone or a group of people, you effectively silence the texting conversation by putting it in Do Not Disturb mode. But it's being called mooning in reference to the light gray moon that appears to the left of the conversation in your Messages folder, signifying that thread's Do Not Disturb status.
Get calls from individual contacts
- Open Contacts.
- Select the entry for the person you want to bypass DND.
- Tap “Edit” in the card's upper right corner.
- Scroll down to “Ringtone” and tap it.
- At the top of the next card, toggle Emergency Bypass to “on.” That allows calls from that person to bypass Do Not Disturb.
The Do Not Disturb feature mutes all calls, alerts and notifications on your mobile device. You have the option of customizing which notifications, alerts or calls you wish to have go through when the Do Not Disturb option is selected.
You can use the Do Not Disturb feature on your iPhone whenever you want to block any calls, texts, or other notifications from making your phone ring. The notifications and alerts will still be stored on your phone, and you can check them at any time, but your iPhone won't light up or ring.
Before you get to the schedule change button, try chaging Settings > Do Not Disturb to "Off". Then go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and change what you want. If this doesn't work, then reset your iPhone by holding the home and on/off buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If you have “Do Not Disturb” enabled on your iPhone and someone sends you a text message, they may receive an “Auto-Reply” message as a response. Here's how to configure that message and decide who gets to see it. In “Do Not Disturb” settings, scroll down until you see the Auto-Reply options. Tap “Auto-Reply.”
Here's how to do it:
- Open Messages app and tap on the conversation thread that you want to set Do Not Disturb for.
- Tap on the blue circle with an “i” on the upper right.
- Move the slider for Hide Alerts to the right to enable Do Not Disturb feature for this contact.
- Tap Done.
To turn on the Do Not Disturb feature, go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and then enable Do Not Disturb. Turn off your iPhone and then turn it on the back again and see whether the feature Do Not Disturb works. To reset your iPhone's settings, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
How do I know if I'm using Do Not Disturb? Most obviously, you'll see a large dark grey notification on the lock screen. This will also tell you how long the mode will be on for.
When your iPhone is in Do Not Disturb mode, any call you receive will go straight to voicemail, and you won't be alerted when you receive notifications.
In case of an Android Phone, open the Phone > tap on More (or 3-dot icon) > Settings in the drop-down menu. On the pop-up, tap on Hide Number > Cancel to come out of the Caller ID Menu. After hiding Caller ID, make a call to the person that has blocked your number and you should be able to reach the person.
Open your phone's Settings app. Do Not Disturb. If you see "Do Not Disturb preferences" instead, you're using an older Android version. Under "What can interrupt Do Not Disturb," choose what to block or allow.
If you call a person who's blocked your number, you won't get any kind of notification about it. However, the ringtone/voicemail pattern won't behave normally. When you call an unblocked number, you'll get somewhere between three and a dozen rings, then a voicemail prompt.
You will still receive them. Your phone will be on total silence when on DnD. Your phone might still send you notifications but you won't notice them unlike when it's on normal mode. But with my android phone, calls are coming through but will only ring for a few seconds (silently) so I don't notice them too.
If your phone can't connect to a certain number then there is something going on with that number. The phone could be turned off or the voice messages are full or some other issue with the phone. The phone could be turned off or the voice messages are full or some other issue with the phone.
Silence: Choose to silence calls and notifications always or only when the device is locked. Allow Calls From: Allow calls from everyone, no one, your favorites, or specific contact groups stored on your device or iCloud.
SMS START 0 to the number 1909. This will activate full DND on your number.
the way that I solved it is you should go to Settings > Sounds and notifications > Do not disturb > Automatic rules and create a rule that will cancel the disturb mode in the next minute or so automatically. Go into the sounds and notifications options in the settings and try turning it off in there.
