Oberyn wounds Gregor with a poisoned spear, but the Mountain is ultimately victorious, admitting to murdering Elia and Aegon before crushing Oberyn's skull. Gregor succumbs to the poison and his body is given to Qyburn for experimentation.
Shae is much more sincere in her affections for Tyrion. This is almost contradictory, but with the Shae in the TV series, you can tell she actually has real feelings for Tyrion — she challenges him, she defies him. She's everything lord Tywin thought Tyrion's first wife was that she actually wasn't.
The writers said that Shea betrayed Tyrion due to a combination of events: 1) Shae was certain Tyrion was going to leave her (which he said he was going to do). This deleted scene reinforces to Shae that she might have misjudge Tyrion and maybe he really only did see her as a whore.
Tyrion, sentenced to die after a trial brought on at the urging of his sister and Joffrey's mother, Cersei (Lena Headey), escapes with the help of his brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Instead of leaving, Tyrion heads to Tywin's quarters where he finds his former lover, Shae (Sibel Kekilli), in his father's bed.
Bronn uses agility and cunning to win fights, which is seen as less honorable than the traditional knightly way of fighting. Lysa expected a trial by combat to be fought like a duel of honor. In such a duel, there are rules. In a trial by combat, the only rule is survival.
Bronn was a sellsword, and she needed all the strength she could get to make it safely there.
No, Tyrion will not die this season. Instead, Jamie Lannister will come to his rescue to break him out of his cell with the help of Varys. Tyrion kills his father before escaping across the narrow sea to a place that was picked for him by Varys.
In A Game of Thrones, Bronn met Tyrion Lannister when Catelyn Stark ordered all local men in the inn he was frequenting to apprehend Tyrion and take him to the Eyrie, so he could be tried for the attempted murder of Bran Stark (although he was innocent). In A Clash of Kings, Bronn became Tyrion's main guard.
From inside a jail cell, Tyrion is able to convince Jon Snow to assassinate the queen Tyrion couldn't control. Later, chained and facing execution yet again, Tyrion delivers a fine speech, and basically picks his own king.
In spite of his death sentence, Tyrion does not die in the Game of Thrones finale. Instead, he manages to talk Jon Snow into assassinating Daenerys and is eventually pardoned by Westeros' new king, Bran Stark (who is now called Bran the Broken, as if that's a complimentary title).
When Tywin refuses to answer his son's question and continues to taunt him, Tyrion surprises them both by shooting his father in the stomach. Tywin dies and Tyrion rejoins Varys in the tunnels, where the Spider helps the Imp escape into exile across the Narrow Sea.
The Red Viper then lunges and stabs him through his breastplate, causing Clegane to cough blood and fall on his back. With Clegane incapacitated, Oberyn once again demands that he admit to Elia's death and reveal who orchestrated it, pointing accusingly at Tywin. Oberyn is brutally killed by Gregor.
At the conclusion of the dinner, however, Joffrey dies from poisoned wine. Tyrion is falsely accused and arrested by Cersei in A Storm of Swords (2000) but it is later revealed that Lady Olenna Tyrell and Lord Petyr Baelish were the true perpetrators.
it was not Catelyn's intention to spark the war of the five Kings, she just wanted Rid of Ned. The Mountain didn't die after being stabbed multiple times, and even being stabbed through the eye. That's because The Mountain was hardly man anymore. In season 4, he was poisoned in a trial by combat and left for dead. But ex-maester Qyburn performed an experiment to bring The Mountain back from certain death.
In the books, he did die, only from poison, in complete agony, two weeks later. In the show, there is a hint that he died too, because, after the fight with Oberyn, we never see the Mountain outside the armor and without wearing his helmet.
Oberyn wounds Clegane severely, but before Oberyn can finish him Gregor grabs Oberyn by the leg and drags him down. With his bare hands Gregor smashes Oberyn's teeth, crushes his head, and kills him, all while admitting to the murder and rape of Elia and the murder of her children.
During the Sack of King's Landing, Gregor Clegane raped and killed Elia after bashing in her son's head, while his hands were still tainted with the infant's blood. Elia's daughter was killed by Amory Lorch. In actual fact, Tywin didn't order the Mountain to kill Elia.
2 His Painful End. The Mountain's most famous moment is his fight with Oberyn Martell. The book and show depict this similarly, including the fact that The Mountain was poisoned during the face-off. Trial By Combat May Still Be Legal In America. Indeed, it was still allowed in a murder case in 1818, when a British court ruled a defendant could invoke his right to trial by battle even though no one had used the practice for centuries.
Whatever Tyrion said to Cersei, it resulted in her joining Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in their fight against the dead (or at least lying and saying she'd be joining them, as was revealed later). This would explain the shot of Tyrion looking down the hall as Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen had sex.
If Jaime loses, Tywin loses any hope of an heir. If Jamie were fighting for Tyrion then there's no way his father would let Clegane fight. He'd either lose his beloved son and heir, or his ruthless murder machine.
