Carol learns that the ER budget is screwed up, so two nurses have to be fired. The three on the chopping block are Malik, Chuny, and Connie. Carol only has until 8 the next morning to decide who to get rid of.
Chen (Ming-Na) and Elgin (guest star James Earl)try to elude gunfire from another motorist until Pratt loses control of his sports car and crashes into the Chicago River, trapping them underwater as rescue crews troll overhead. When recovered, all three are hospitalized with serious injuries that soon spiral downward.

In the penultimate episode of season 3, Pete left the series when his mother took a job outside of Smallville. According to Pete, he wanted to leave because the pressure of keeping Clark's secret was too much for him. Pete's guest appearance in Smallville season 7 should been a much more meaningful and emotional story.
So, yes, of course Seth MacFarlane -- already famous for his pop-culture references -- is a fan of "Flash Gordon." As such, it should come as a shock to no one that the man who played Flash Gordon, Sam Jones, also plays a pretty significant role in MacFarlane's "Ted." As himself, of course.
Sam's final regular appearance on the show was Forsaken, in which Pete left Smallville after getting attacked by an FBI agent who was working for Lionel Luthor. In 2008, Pete returned to Smallville in Hero as a metahuman who could stretch his limbs while chewing kryptonite chewing gum.
