Climax. Tomás steps out into the hallway in order to confront Tyler so that Sylv and Fareed will have time to run. He manages to get Tyler to talk for a little while, but gets shot nonetheless and dies. Autumn runs up the stairs to see the aftermath and tells Tyler the SWAT team is almost there so he should give up.
At the same time, of course, This Is Where It Ends is still fiction. The story isn't about the technicalities of a shooting; it's about four teens in a harrowing situation whose world is being turned upside down. So I allowed for that, too, in the way the story unfolded.
