In the 2018-19, KMRL had incurred a loss of Rs 285 crore. In 2018-19, the revenue of Kochi Metro stood at Rs 104.48 crore while in 2019-20 it rose to `134.95 crore. Revenue from ridership also increased in 2019-20 with 1,81,07,722 passengers travelling in the Metro, generating a revenue of Rs 56.93 crore.
The Kochi metropolitan area or Kochi urban agglomeration is a metropolitan area centered around the city of Kochi, in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. With a population of more than 2.1 million within an area of 440 km², it is the largest and most populous metropolitan area in Kerala.

The Kochi Metro is set to become India's eighth inter-city metro rail project on Saturday. It is 13-km long and has been built at a cost of Rs 5,181-crore. It will span 25 kilometres across 22 stations.
The Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit system, serving the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is the second longest operational metro network in India after the Delhi Metro (285 stations) with 57 stations and the lines are arranged in a secant model.

District Collector decided to implement Operation Breakthrough Project and to formulate projects to avoid such a situation in future. Kochi city being surrounded by lakes on three sides and due to its immediate proximity to sea, the canals in the city are subjected to routine tidal inflow and outflow.
The total length of the underground corridor presently is 48.06 kilometres and Phase 3 alone will have underground corridors of 41.044 kilometres. The first phase of Delhi Metro's construction had 13.17 kilometres of underground Metro lines while, the second phase had 34.89 kilometres.

Similarly, in 2018-19, their income from operational and non-operational sources was ₹3,582.80 crore. The Metro body's books also show that in 2020-21, the agency ran into deficits of ₹1,784.87 crore, as against a surplus of ₹758.01 crore in 2019-20. In 2018-19, DMRC recorded a surplus of ₹1,027 crore.

The Delhi Metro is fully functional, with all its corridors operational at regular, pre-lockdown timings, from Saturday.
