The original and arguably most famous Robin, Dick Grayson was first introduced by Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson in 1940's DETECTIVE COMICS #38 as a way to make Batman a more accessible character to kids and grow young readership. It worked, nearly doubling the sales of Batman comics at the time.
The new Robin
He was extensively trained and was allowed more freedom than his predecessor. This prompted Dick to officially drop the role of Robin and take on a new identity. When Jason returned to Gotham, he was offered to become a Titan, which was now becoming reformed.Though he is stronger than many of the characters on the show, Robin is the weakest of the Titans. His main skills are his training is martial arts and leadership.
At the end of Titans Season 2, Donna Troy/Wonder Girl died saving Dawn Granger/Dove and some civilians from a falling tower. While tragic, the death wasn't exactly glorious.
As for her latest Rebirth incarnation, the comic's artist, Jonboy Meyers confirmed she was between 18 and 19 years old (here).
He is written by many authors as the first son of Batman. As well as being Batman's crime-fighting partner, Grayson establishes himself as the leader of the Teen Titans, a team of teenage superheroes. As Nightwing, he continues to lead the Teen Titans, Titans, and later the Outsiders.

In the tv series, it's theorized that's he's 14-15. Just like the comics, he's supposed to be the youngest member, so it only makes sense for the age range to be 15 and younger. In the most recent adaptation (a live-action version), Beast Boy is 17 with Raven being younger than him by two years.
Well, Season 3 of Titans immediately throws that out the window in "Barbara Gordon" as Bruce breaks his one rule, resulting in him killing the Joker.
Dick has been seen on Titans as a Detroit police detective, as a seasoned veteran version of Robin, and now settling into his new identity as Nightwing. Dick making an even bigger leap to take on his own mentor's crime-fighting alter ego wouldn't be that big of a stretch.
He was adopted by Bruce Wayne after his parents were killed by Zucco, and became Robin. Robin eventually left Batman, and moved to another city (though it is known to still be close to Gotham) to continue fighting crime, though this time he intended to go solo.
Dick Grayson became Nightwing after he was dismissed from the role of Robin as a teenager. He was featured in a Nightwing series from 1995 to 2009; after Wayne's apparent death, Grayson became the new Batman, subsequently retiring his Nightwing mantle temporarily.
