Sea of Thieves is a fun but uneven multiplayer game that allows you to roll around with friends as a crew of four (or two, on a smaller ship) pirates. For those among us who prefer to play on their own, or just can't rustle up a group, don't worry: Sea of Thieves is a perfectly viable solo experience.
The Maiden Voyage can always be accessed from the Main Menu. The Maiden Voyage is very different from any other Tall Tale in game, but it listed as such under the Reputation Menu with its own Commendations, Rewards and Titles. The main difference is that this Tall Tale is a Solo adventure and cannot be voted on.
Yes! Sea of Thieves supports crossplay between Xbox, Windows 10, and Steam via the Play Anywhere. This means you can not only enjoy the game with your friends across platforms but switch consoles while keeping your process.
The key itself is found in the pond at the top of the hill near the ship, the Magpie's Fortune. The best way to reach this area is to climb up through the ship. Start on the beach near the Pirate Lord and turn around to face the ship. Run up to it and inside the lower levels.
You can't save your quest or your voyage. If you sail with another person on a boat, (s)he can invite you again after supper etc. This is a session based game - meaning that it's done when the session ends regardless of where you are.
Rewards. Completing the sail through the shroud to end your journey will unlock the Pirate Lord's Jacket, which you'll find in the clothing chest on your ship. Completing ALL the Maiden Voyage commendations will unlock the Magpie's Fortune Sails, which you can equip to your ship at the Shipwright's chest on any outpost
Voyages are thematic collections of Quests that players can choose to embark upon in Sea of Thieves. Voyages can be purchased from Trading Companies or the Black Market at all Outposts. Players have to put purchased Voyages up for a vote on the Voyage Table.
These Totems can only be acquired as a part of either The Shroudbreaker (Quest), Stars of a Thief or The Art of the Trickster Tall Tale. Once the Totem Key is lost or sunk, the Tall Tale will fail. Due to the long length of Tall Tales, it is considered bad form to willingly hide or get rid of other Crew's Quest Items.
@billythetort You can only turn in your own quest items. This was done in the hopes of reducing outrage that would result from other crews stealing quest items and trying to sell them. Sadly, however, crews still can steal and hold onto them preventing the owners from completing the quest.
Take it and RUN! Endless skeleton hordes will attack you, so fight your way back to the ship and flee to the nearest outpost where you can give the Shroudbreaker back to the Mysterious Stranger in the tavern, completing the quest. As a reward, you'll get 3000 gold and a Pirate Lord's Hat to wear whenever you want.
Scarab Totem = Crook's Hollow – Under the waterfall on the east of the island. Moon Totem = Crescent Isle – Underground cave to the north (enter from center of island). Boar Totem = Devil's Ridge – South east beach, near painting of boar's head on a rock.
The Chest of Ancient Tributes is a type of Treasure Chest in Sea of Thieves locked away in a Gold Hoarder Treasure Vault. The Chest can be sold to the Gold Hoarders (or Reaper's Bones) for Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value.
No, progress in Tall Tales doesn't save between sessions. Yea, you can think of Tall Tales as secondary voyages. You won't have the appropriate quest book when you log in, only commendations and chapter unlocks persist.
Each Tall Tale now has several defined checkpoints. These checkpoints save your progress in a Tall Tale. Unlike some games in which a checkpoint might be an actual location in the game, these checkpoints represent a state of progress. Examples might help clarify the types of progress these checkpoints will save.
