The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC lands in the top third of our luxury compact SUV rankings. It delivers on almost every front, providing an enjoyable driving experience, a comfortable interior, and plenty of technology.The GLC, like its predecessor, began assembly at Mercedes-Benz's plant in Bremen, Germany. Since the main GLC production site in Bremen already runs at full capacity, Mercedes-Benz have decided to expand the production capacity by utilizing Valmet Automotive plant at Uusikaupunki, Finland.
The GL in GLC stands for GeLände which means off-road in German and the C stands for Compact. So the GLC in Mercedes-Benz lineup means compact offroader.

While both of these luxury SUVs deliver exceptional performance, there are differences to take into consideration. The 2018 GLC SUV features a 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine that produces 241 horsepower and 28 highway MPG, while the 2018 GLE SUV features a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 302 horsepower and 23 highway MPG.
The GLC is the middle-sized crossover-4x4 Benz. You can choose from two bodystyles: the five-door SUV, or the 'GLC' coupe liftback if you want less practicality, a horrid ride and the rear visibility of a Lamborghini Countach. There are two performance versions: the V8 GLC 63, and the V6 GLC 43.

The letters "AMG" stand for Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach (Aufrecht's birth town). In 1976 most of AMG moved to Affalterbach, with the racing-engine development remaining at the old location in Burgstall. At this time Erhard Melcher ceased to be a partner, but continued to be an employee at the Burgstall location.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA is an OK luxury subcompact SUV. It offers sporty handling, good fuel economy estimates, and a solid number of standard features, but its powertrain is unrefined, its ride can be rough, and classmates have nicer cabin materials.
