Today, Disney announced that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be coming to Disney+ two months early. Now everyone with a Disney+ account can watch the entire Skywalker saga to honor the holiday.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is premiering on Disney+ on May 4th, which is the date most commonly linked to the classic phrase “may the force be with you.” Life, man. Life.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has officially crossed $1 billion at the box office worldwide, making it Disney's seventh film in 2019 to hit the 10-figure mark, via Variety. It's taken Rise of Skywalker 28 days to cross the $1 billion mark, when The Force Awakens hit that same mark in 12 days and The Last Jedi in 19.

Redbox has apparently not yet stocked copies of Rise of Skywalker as the title is not listed at the vendors' website or available in its kiosks (some Redbox users reported a landing page for the film to take reservations was taken down in the week leading up to its disc release).
Now that Disney+ is here, Netflix's days of getting first streaming dibs on new Disney movies are over. There's currently no plan to release Rise of Skywalker (or any other new Star Wars movie) on Netflix.
