Skateboarding is not a crime. But it will be soon on one Shore boardwalk. Beginning Aug. 21, the use of skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates and scooters will be prohibited on the boardwalk, a ban that critics say rolls in the face of efforts by the city to appeal to families.
Dogs are allowed on all beaches from October to May, but are not allowed on the Boardwalk at any time. Dogs must be on a leash and owner must pick up and dispose of droppings. A “dog friendly” park and beach is located at Glenwood Ave in Wildwood and clearly marked with a giant fire hydrant sculpture.
Bicycles are permitted on the Asbury Park Boardwalk between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. year-round.
Q: Can you ride bikes on Ocean City Boardwalk, MD? A: Biking is allowed only between the hours of 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). It is allowed anytime of the day and night in the off-season from the Tuesday after Labor Day to the Friday before Memorial Day.

Wildwoods Beaches– Admission on the Wildwood beaches is free. It's our other favorite free beach in New Jersey. Beach badges are not required.
1 through May 1 cars and buggies can hit the Wildwood sand. Permits cost $25 and can be obtained through the city clerk on New Jersey Avenue during the week. Beach access is at Cresse Avenue and all vehicles attempting to drive on the beach must have proper equipment.

The boardwalk is open daily until 11pm. There is no smoking no dogs and no alcoholic beverages allowed on the beach or boardwalk. Bayfront docks open (maintain social distancing) and personal watercraft/boat rentals permitted to open with restrictions. No swimming is allowed at the bay beach.
