The band started off with the name Xero, then Hybrid Theory, and finally Linkin Park. They chose "Linkin Park" because Chester used to drive by Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, CA after practice and it grabbed his attention. The guys in the band liked how it sounded.
23) Runaway. Runaway is one of Linkin Park's oldest songs. Appearing on debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000, a demo of the song titled Stick N Move was included on the band's 1996 sampler before Chester joined the band and were known as Xero.
Linkin Park never confirmed nor denied definitively that they'd carry on or break up now that Bennington is gone, though keyboardist and vocalist Mike Shinoda said he and the band were definitely opposed to doing a hologram tour. It seems like Linkin Park will return at some point in the future.
Linkin Park doesn't have songs that are completely rap. Step Up is a song from the Hybrid Theory EP which isn't TECHNICALLY all rap, since it has some other weird spoken lyrics in there. And if you're looking for more rap from Mike Shinoda, you could check out Fort Minor, his side project.

No, they are actually a very underrated band. A lot of people all they see is Hybrid Theory or Meteora but don't realize the band has matured way beyond that to do awesome things, such as A thousand suns. Linkin Park are a rock band trending new ground, when every other band plays it safe.
They produced it because they wanted to produce something different as opposed to Living Things. They may produce a much different album two years later. And that'll be because they just love to produce new kinds of music.

When did Chester Bennington die?
Chester's ideas tended to be in the form of entire songs, so unless those songs ended up becoming Linkin Park songs, he was usually limited to assisting with lyrics/vocals for Mike's compositions. It's hard to say, but as far as I'm aware, he did write a big chunk of his own lyrics and a decent amount of music.
Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has discussed the possibility of recruiting a new vocalist for the band.
