Is "Five Feet Apart" inspired by the Pragers' love story? "The film is fiction and not based on the Pragers," CBS Films, which produced the movie, wrote in an email. "The filmmakers did not meet nor engage with the Pragers, and the Five Feet Apart story and script is not based on them or their family."
Get ready, people, because Five Feet Apart is officially getting a sequel! Well, sort of. As fans know, the first movie hit theaters back in March 2019, and it starred Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson. The book comes out on October 6, 2020, but there's unfortunately no release date for the movie just yet.
That's why it's important for people with CF to stay at least 6 feet away from others with CF and anyone with a cold, flu, or infection. For people with CF, being close to others with the disease puts them at greater risk of getting and spreading dangerous germs and bacteria. This is called cross-infection.
People with cystic fibrosis should never meet each other, as they carry bacteria within their lungs that could be harmful to each other.
The physical obstacle to their budding romance is made more critical by Will's infection with B. cepacia, a bacteria that's particularly dangerous for other CF patients—and makes physical contact even more risky. The couple eventually decides to breach the guideline by one foot, hence the movie's title.
Stella carries around a pool stick, 5 feet in length, so she and Will can gauge their boundary. Poe dies suddenly, leaving Stella to grieve for another person close to her. When Will and Stella escape from the hospital for a date one night, Stella gets a text saying new lungs have arrived for her.
In a previous interview with Forbes, actress Paula Malcomson hinted that her exit was to free up some time in her schedule to perhaps pursue other projects due to the time demand of Ray Donovan. However, the decision to end her life on the show was also influenced by the writers as well.
"The Blood of Sanctum" shoved her body out an airlock (via her daughter, no less), but Abby's first death was the one that highlighted her character. Unfortunately, it felt a bit rushed, since she died in the middle of an episode without so much as the Traveler's Blessing said in her honor.
