For a pair of gloves to be useful during a Tough Mudder run, it must provide the appropriate amount of grip. The grip is essential because, to put it bluntly, it is the only reason you would even need to wear gloves for a Tough Mudder race (other than it being cold outside.
Going Bananas for Mud

Stay away from all clothes that are made of cotton or cotton blends. Cotton absorbs water (and mud.) Look for clothes with wicking properties (pulls moisture away from the body) and man-made fibers, like polyester and spandex.

If you are running a Spartan Race Stadium Sprint, by all means, wear some gloves. They will protect your hands at several obstacles and if you need to take them off, no problem. When gloves are wet, they lose their grip on whatever you are trying to gain an advantage over.

- Check your laces before running and double knot them.
- Tuck your hanging laces back into the laces on top of your shoe.
- For ankle stability look to products like Rock Tape or KT Tape.

It depends how hard core you are! Our races are 5k but are WAY more fun and will take longer than your normal race. Just add 20-30 minutes onto your normal 5k race time.

The Ultra upgrades the Ultra Beast to an exciting and challenging format of 30mi / 50km, featuring unique course elements and obstacles.
