In Blowing Rock, there are couple nice pottery and art shops with pottery/art made locally and nearby. So, to me, Boone has a more of everyday type feel whereas Blowing Rock has more of a cute “touristy” town type of feel. The prices for the hotels, from my observation, reflected same.
In Boone, the summers are warm, the winters are very cold and wet, and it is partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 24°F to 78°F and is rarely below 11°F or above 84°F.
