At 3x6 feet size (that equals 36x72 inches) this banner is usually ordered as a horizontal (landscape) banner, but it can also be printed vertically (as a portrait banner) if needed.
You can create a new Photoshop document that is 1600px wide by 440px tall. Make sure to set the resolution to 72 pixels/inch in the RGB Color mode.
A standard pull up banner graphic is 800mm wide by 2000mm high. In terms of portability and ease of use, this size banner is ideal - especially if you are moving between events, this size of banner makes transportation and storage in short space incredibly easy.
Step 1. Create new document In Photoshop, select File and New. This will open a New File window where you can select all the properties of your banner. - Step 1: Create the middle band of the ribbon banner. In a new layer, create a rectangle using the Rectangular Marquee tool (not the Rectangle tool).
- Step 2: Create the ends of the ribbon banner. Make a smaller rectangle which is the same height as the middle band.

Straight Banners
- Step 1: Draw two parallel lines.
- Step 2: Close off the ends.
- Step 3: Draw two sets of parallel lines coming off the rectangle.
- Step 4: Add the angles edges and close off the shapes.

- Create a new banner template. Go File > New.

Having 200 to 300 pixels per inch is a general rule of thumb for print. For a 20″x30″ poster, that would put your starting size at 4000 x 6000 pixels, or about 24 megapixels.

Choose File > Print. Select a page size from the Size menu. The available sizes are determined by the current printer and PPD file. If the PPD file for the printer allows it, you can select Custom to specify a custom page size in the Width and Height text boxes.
The advanced toolbar can be selected by clicking on the Window menu -> Toolbars -> Advanced. This has the Measure tool by default.
Select the Line Segment tool and do either one of the following:
- Position the pointer where you want the line to begin, and click and drag to where you want the line to end.
- Click on the artboard where you want the line to begin. A dialog box opens, and you can specify the length and angle of the line.
