The goalposts and crossbar must be made of wood, metal or other approved material. They are square, rectangular, round or elliptical in shape and are not dangerous to players. The distance between the posts is 7.320m and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2.44m.
In professional soccer there are usually one referee and two assistant referees. In some games there may be a fourth or even fifth referee calling the game. The head referee is responsible to enforce the laws and rules of the game.
The penalty mark (penalty spot) is measured from the back-end of the goal-line at a distance of 11 metres, equivalent to 12 yards.

The 'D'marks the part of the pitch outside the penalty box which is closer to the penalty spot than 10 yards, into which players must not encroach before the kick. It is usually called the D.
Last, but not least, that wooden thing at each end of the pitch they call the goal. Think you know how big it is? It's eight feet high (2.44m) and eight yards wide (7.32m).
The goal area (colloquially the "six-yard box"), consists of the rectangle formed by the goal-line, two lines starting on the goal-line 5.5 metres (6 yd) from the goalposts and extending 5.5 metres (6 yd) into the pitch from the goal-line, and the line joining these, i.e. they are a rectangle 6yds by 20yds.
The standard size for a 5-a-side goal is 12 x 4ft (3.66 x 1.20m) for juniors or 16 x 4 ft (4.88 x 1.20m) for senior players.
The football goal crossbar is 10 feet high, and the posts are an additional 20 feet high, for a total height of 30 feet. NFL and NCAA goal posts are 18 feet, 6 inches wide. High school goal posts are 23 feet, 4 inches wide.

The NFHS stipulates that, for high school soccer, a goal should consist of two upright posts that must be placed along a goal line and are between 4 and 5 inches in diameter.
