Sloan's Lake is the only Denver lake to allow motorized boats; jet skis and motorized personal watercraft are not allowed on Sloan's. You can take non-motorized boats (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes) out on Sloan's, Rocky Mountain Lake, Berkeley Lake, Smith Lake at Washington Park, and Ferril Lake at City Park.

The lake that today occupies 177 acres of Denver makes it the second largest park in Denver. The lake however is not naturally occuring, it was believed that in 1861, homesteader Thomas M. Sloan tapped into an underground aquifer while digging into a well for his farm.
Smith Lake at Washington ParkWhat it lacks in surface area, it makes up in proximity to Denver. Bring your own paddle board though (or rent from a place that allows you to take away) as there are not any rentals directly associated with the lake.
There are awesome fish in there, I've heard, and it is completely private/off limits to public fishing.
Great to . 3 mile circumference walk around a beautiful lake with ducks and pleasant views of downtown Denver. “What a great place to take a morning walk!” Sloan Lake was a great place to walk everyday.
