April 15, 2021, by midnight Central time. For priority consideration, submit your FAFSA form by May 1, 2021. For the DC Tuition Assistance Grant, complete the DC OneApp and submit supporting documents by May 31, 2021, for priority consideration.
The 2020-2021 School Year (enrollments that begin between May 2020 and March 2021): FAFSA on the Web applications must be submitted by midnight CDT, June 30, 2021. Corrections on the Web forms must be submitted by midnight CDT, Sept. 11, 2021.
Am I Eligible?
- Are a high school graduate as stipulated in the Pennsylvania State Grant law.
- Attend a postsecondary school approved by PHEAA for Pennsylvania State Grant purposes.
- Are enrolled at least half-time (defined as at least six semester credits but less than 12 semester credits per semester, or the equivalent)
Today, PHEAA is a national provider of student financial aid services, serving millions of students and thousands of schools through its loan guaranty, loan servicing, financial aid processing, outreach, and other student aid programs.
Government grants, even though referred to as free money, or non repayable money (meaning you don't have to pay it back) is a very lose term.
For example, the FAFSA asks about a student driver's license to help prevent identity theft. Colleges can use a student driver's license to prevent someone else from picking up the student's refund check. The driver's license number is also not used to verify citizenship or drug convictions.
The PA State Grant Program is a financial assistance program that provides funding to eligible PAns and helps them afford the costs of higher education at the undergraduate level.
The maximum Federal Pell Grant award is $6,495 for the 2021–22 award year (July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022).

Pell Grants are federal grants and Cal Grants are state grants. Both are for students with financial need. To apply for a Pell Grant, you must submit the FAFSA. For the Cal Grant, you must submit both the FAFSA or CADAA and your verified Cal Grant GPA by the March 2 Cal Grant deadline.
Basic Pell Grant EligibilityYou must: Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen with a valid Social Security number. Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Be enrolled in an eligible and participating degree-granting program as an undergraduate student.
