Unfortunately, you cannot use a DualSense PS5 controller on PS4. Tapping the PS button on a DualSense while wired to a PS4 doesn't do anything, and the DualSense won't work with the console if you try to connect via Bluetooth pairing, either. There is one way to get it to work, and that's via Remote Play.

(sometimes up to 2yrs) Then if you can replace the batteries your good to go for another year or two.. Most of my controllers will have the stick or a button go out.

2 bad ps4 controllers, 2 bad motion controllers and 2 PSVR systems all went bad. They were all in pretty much like new condition, but no matter how much I baby them they seem to break. Ps4 controllers are unbreakable compared to ps3 one. I'm rough at times and ps4 controllers are still fine.
They have the same durability as regular ps4 controllers. They just have those paddles in the back that make it easier to press X triangle o or square. Good for Fps games like call of duty or over watch or even fortnite (third person). You have to get used to the controller at first but after you'll love it.

There are different versions of the Dualshock 4 (=PS4 controller), the standard one and the one that come comes boxed with the SLIM and PRO PS4 models. Their only difference is that the new version of the controllers have a led on the touchpad and their buttons (and sticks) are grey instead of back.
