However, in the case of Silent Hill 2, the game jumped in value because it's just so damn good. Not only are general game collectors trying to get their hands on factory sealed copies to complete their collections, but Silent Hill fans are also spending big money for brand new copies.
The monsters in Silent Hill are not your typical enemies; they are twisted and demented creatures that could easily haunt your nightmares. The creatures are disturbing, and can make an imprint. They can be incredibly creepy, from the twitchy, faceless nurses to the twisted Lisa.
Silent Hill!! Resident evil isn't as much scary as it is intriguing. Silent hill is far scarier but resi games still have some good atmosphere and far more excitement and action. Lights out on your own makes no difference to resi games though but Silent hill can be pretty weird.
Tom Ivan. Norman Reedus has said he's happy Konami's Silent Hills never got off the ground. The actor explained that the horror game's cancellation led to Death Stranding being made and Reedus forming a deeper relationship with game director Hideo Kojima.
Silent Hill 3 is the scariest SH3 imo. No chap scaring, but the otherworld or whatever just makes me feel genuinely unpleasant, and couple times I have continued a save in the otherworld and just felt so unpleasant I kept going just for 5 minutes or so.
The last video game released in the Silent Hill series was the awful Silent Hill: Book Of Memories in 2012, but Silent Hills was to have been a major revamp for the franchise.
The
Silent Hill franchise has expanded to include various print pieces, two feature films, and spin-off video games.

It's not a great Silent Hill game, but I still think it's worth playing. From a pure gameplay standpoint, it's actually more playable than most other Silent Hill games, but that's not really why most get into the series. Honestly, if you liked Alan Wake, it's probably worth a shot.
Play 2, it's stand alone, 3 is a continuation of the story of the first Silent Hill. I personally prefer 1+3 over 2 but to each their own. These are all really important thing to the game because the are what set the mood, and make no mistake about it, mood is the most important thing in a Silent Hill game.
Silent Hill 2 is a separate story but Silent Hill 3 is a continuation of SH1 so I do recommend you play that first.
At the end, why didn't Rose and Sharon return to the real world? They left Silent Hill, but the darkness was everywhere once they left town. A. Remember that during the final moments when Alessa was slaughtering all the cultists with her barbed wire tendrils, Rose told Sharon to close her eyes.
Pretty sure 1 was PS1 only, but if you have the disk for it, you can play it on one of any number of PS1 emulators for PC. I have a real hard time with the graphic of Silent Hill 2 (PCSX2), and what I have seen the moded PC port look better .
Silent Hill is going to be getting not one but two brand-new games. At least that's the case according to industry leaker AestheticGamer on Twitter. Just before you get excited about it though, remember this is Konami we're talking about.
Silent Hill movie director Christophe Gans has announced he's making not one but two new video game-themed movies - one based on the foggy town of Silent Hill, and another featuring the unsettling Japanese horror series, Fatal Frame/Project Zero.

13 Resident Evil Games in Order of Release (Main Series) Resident Evil is without a doubt one of the most popular franchises in the gaming world, with over 10 releases since 1996.
SILENT HILL Town Based on the REAL LIFE Story of Centralia, PA! It sounds like the opening of the popular Konami video game series SILENT HILL which was inspired by the town, but for the people of Centralia, Pennsylvania, this is a reality. The first coal mining operation began in 1856.
Silent Hill is really purgatory and it sits on the outskirts of Hell. The "survivors" are not really survivors because they are already dead. Rose and Sharon died in the the car accident that sent them to Silent Hill. Rose and Sharon escape the depths of Hell but can not escape Silent Hill because they are dead.
When does Rose die? Her home is shrouded in fog. So yeah, she's dead, just like everyone else that was in Silent Hill.
The girl had nightmares about the town of Silent Hill, although she had never been there. Rose, Sharon, and a police officer ended up in some sort of crash just outside of Silent Hill in the real world. When they woke up, they were in dark Silent Hill, and there was fog everywhere. Thus begins the movie.
Silent Hill: Revelation is rated R by the MPAA for violence and disturbing images, some language and brief nudity. This additional information about the movie's content is taken from the notes of various Canadian Film Classification boards: Violence: - Explicit gory and grotesque images.
Silent Hill uses a third-person view, with real-time rendering of 3D environments. The game follows Harry Mason as he searches for his missing adopted daughter in the eponymous fictional American town of Silent Hill; stumbling upon a cult conducting a ritual to revive a deity it worships, he discovers her true origin.
Silent Hill is a Japanese interpretation of American horror storytelling with a strong emphasis on psychological horror.
Setting. The town of Silent Hill itself is a representation of a person's personal demons. This is evident in all games as each character has their own version of the Otherworld. The Otherworld is a representation of a character's psyche and constitutes their own personal nightmare.
P.T. is the best horror game ever made. The fact that P.T. didn't rely on jump scares is part of why it has remained terrifying, and why it will continue to haunt me until my bones turn to dust at the end of time. In horror media, tension is as thin as a soap bubble, and it doesn't take much to pop.
Jump scares really can amplify the intensity of horror, and work as the perfect climaxes of lengthy tension-building. That's why P.T. is so damn creepy. It has perfect tension-building, and has an occasional jump scare that always works and is always terrifying.
Modern horror games could/should learn a thing or two from it. Silent Hill 2 has been praised for its grotesque and unnerving atmosphere, its intriguing and mysterious characters, its insanely effective and emotional soundtrack and most importantly - its dark and brutal, yet somehow beautiful story.
There are no direct story line references. Silent Hill 2 was more or less a jumping off point from the established location of Silent Hill in Silent Hill 1. There's only one true instance where the game, but not the story, directly references Silent Hill 1, and that's. But, that's just an easter egg of sorts.
You can now play P.T. on the PC. Fans remade Konami's “playable teaser” for Silent Hills using the Unreal Engine toolkit and released it for free. P.T. is notable for a couple of reasons. It is one of the scariest gaming experiences ever, and you also can no longer download it from the PlayStation Network.
Single-player. P.T. (initialism for "playable teaser") is a first-person psychological horror video game developed by Kojima Productions, under the pseudonym "7780s Studio", and published by Konami. The game was directed and designed by Hideo Kojima, in collaboration with film director Guillermo del Toro.
Silent Hills 2 and 3 hold up perfectly well. Play them on Easy if you're concerned about the combat. I played through them last year, both in the PS2 and HD remake versions.
