The best vanilla WoW classes are:
- Warrior.
- Priest.
- Mage.
- Warlock.
- Rogue.
- Druid.
- Paladin or Shaman.
- Hunter.
Mage is very good in PvP and PvE. For instances it's mostly Frost, Fire only in late patches. AoE farming is fantastic, both AE and Blizzard.
Human
- Humans are the best race for Alliance PvE and raiding, mainly because of the racial passive Sword Specialization with the Combat Swords build.
- You will also gain.
- Dwarf is not as strong of a choice for Rogue as Human is for PvE content.
Contents
- Humans. Kul Tiran humans.
- Gnomes.
- Draenei.
- Dwarves.
- Night elves.
- Worgen.

Mages are able to equip Staves, One-Handed Swords, Daggers, and Wands. All Mages begin their Classic with the Staves and Wand skills learned, and they will need to learn how to equip Daggers and One-Handed Swords.
Classic WoW Mage Basics
Weapons: Staves, Wands, Daggers, Swords, and off-hand items. The priest begins with proficiency in staffs, one-handed maces, wands and daggers. The priest can only wear cloth armor. For details on set items that are useful for priests, see priest sets.
Unlike other casters (mage / warlock) priests cannot use swords, however, they can use 1h maces instead.
A wand is a ranged weapon that causes Arcane, Fire, Frost, Nature, Shadow or (in rare cases) Holy or Physical damage. They may be used by priests, mages, and warlocks. There is no restriction on the damage type that can be wielded and used; you can use wands outside your native damage capabilities. Wands can autoshoot.
Buliwyf Stonehand is located in the Military Ward in Ironforge, in the Timberline Arms building. Buliwyf can
train the following : 10 Fist Weapons.
Woo can train the following :
- 10 Crossbows.
- 10 Daggers.
- 10 One-Handed Swords.
- 1 Polearms.
- 10 Staves.
- 10 Two-Handed Swords.
Staffs, Maces and Daggers. And wands. Just in case you didn't know, priests don't actually use melee weapons to attack, they just benefit from the stats. Staffs, Maces and Daggers.
It should be noted that in WoW Classic there are Shamans, Druids, Priests and Paladins as healing classes, and Gnomes can't play as any of them, so only Warlocks and Mages get the benefit of their Expansive Mind racial.
Druids, Mages, Shaman, and Warlocks all start with the ability o use staves. Hunters, Priests, and Warriors can all learn to use staves from a Weapon Master. Warlock do not start with staffs.
Priests are limited to cloth armor and the following weapons: daggers, one-handed maces, staves, and wands.
Priests can only learn Daggers, 1H maces and Staves, and Wands too.
Videos of good shadow priests are rare. probably because the class is so easy to play 1v1 that even scrubs can make videos where they melt faces. shadows are very good for PvP if you keeo a few things in mind. you can beat every class and every spec.
You can heal as shadow and if you feel comfortable enough, you can try wanding low hp mobs to get spirit tap procs to help keep mana up.
As a Priest, you have the ability to heal yourself and group members as a Holy or Discipline Priest, or do damage as a Shadow Priest. Healing Priests are the typical RPG style reactive healer with many tools to keep your allies healthy.
In Mythic and Mythic+ dungeons, they can provide good damage, but are lacking utility compared to some other specs. However, they do have enough utility that they aren't rare, just not as common. In Raids, both Overall and specifically single target (damage done only to bosses), Shadow Priest is very strong.
