Open the DOS interface of your computer by typing the letters "cmd" into the "Open" field of the run menu. After you press enter, a new window should open which includes the DOS command prompt. In this window, type "Hostname" and press the enter key. Your computer's server name should appear.

How to find the SMTP Mail Server for an Email Address

- Type "set type=mx" - This will cause NSLOOKUP to only return what are known as MX (Mail eXchange) records from the DNS servers.
- For an example, type "hotmail.com" or use your own domain name.

How do I verify the mail settings on my iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch?

Check the storage space on your iPhone and make sure it is not depleting. Make sure the Sympatico Email account is properly configured on the iPhone. You can also reconfigure the same if required. You may switch the server setting if the problem continues.

You can keep sympatico configured AND configure your outlook.com. They will both come into the same inbox and you can drag and drop email from one to the other if you need to. For example you can change where it is being sent FROM by pulling down the email address.
At some point in the past, Bell Canada's internet service, Sympatico was linked to Microsoft and MSN. At the time, our Sympatico.ca addresses where used as our Microsoft UserID. My email, Windows login, Xbox, Skype, Office 365 and Windows phone all use my Sympatico.ca address as my primary alias.

- Enter imap.bell.net as the incoming email server.
How to set up Bell Mail in Outlook 2016
- In Outlook 2016 click File.
- Click Add Account.
- Click Your Name.
- Enter your name.
- Click E-mail Address and enter your email address.
- Click Password and enter your Bell email password.
- Re-enter your Bell email password.
- Select Manual setup or additional server types.
Click Log in / Register. Enter your MyBell username and password and click Log in. Select your Internet service from the left panel, then click Go to Internet overview. Scroll to the Manage Bell email section, then click Manage your Bell email to see a list of your email addresses.
