How much does DirecTV Now cost, and is there a contract? DirecTV Now starts at $40 per month with its Live a Little package, which includes more than 60 live channels. DirecTV Now doesn't lock you into an annual contract but instead bills you monthly, so you can cancel whenever you like.

DirecTV's top tier Premier package ($134.99 per month) includes a whopping 330+ channels, access to live, out-of-market NFL games, plus premium channels such as HBO. Of course, you can enjoy DirecTV for much less.
The Ultimate package is only $134 per month for existing customers. It includes all but 2 or 3 channels, excluding the premium movie channels, that 95% of viewers watch that the Premier package offers.

DIRECTV costs start off tricky. You can choose a two-year contract plan or go without a contract. If you go with the contract, your monthly payment will be cheaper for the first year but higher in the second year. No-contract plans have a higher monthly payment, but you're free to cancel anytime.

AT&T has entered into a deal with private equity firm TPG to spin off its DirecTV, AT&T TV and U-Verse business, according to an SEC filing released Thursday. Under the agreement, AT&T and TPG will form a new company called DirectTV.
Can I get internet through DIRECTV? You can't get internet service through DIRECTV because it's a satellite TV service. If you're looking to bundle internet with DIRECTV service, check out the bundles from AT&T and CenturyLink.
AT&T and DIRECTV are owned by the same company, but they represent different services. DIRECTV is a satellite-only TV service, while AT&T represents other arms of the company such as AT&T fiber internet, home phone and AT&T TV.

Xfinity is going to be the best choice for bundling services—its X1 Preferred Double Play plan offers great value for TV and internet. But expect higher prices per channel and fewer package choices overall if you pick it over DIRECTV.
Change your service
- Go to your Account overview.
- If you have more than 1 account, choose the one you want to change.
- Select Change or manage my plan.
- Do one of the following: View your current plan or package. Change plan or channels.
- Follow the prompts to finish up.
If you have a legitimate reason to get out of a DirectTV contract then you can do so at no charge. Reasons that DirectTV will accept include: You're moving. If you're moving to a new apartment that doesn't allow you to install a satellite dish, then they will cancel your contract without an early termination charge.

"Because our programming costs went up, we have to raise our monthly prices for select packages," AT&T said in a notice titled "TV price changes for 2020." An additional $2 increase on the Regional Sports Network fee means that some customers will pay another $10 per month.

Are There Any Family DIRECTV Packages? Technically, yes. There is a DIRECTV Family Package that costs only $29.99 per month plus taxes and includes about 18 extra channels.
Telecom giant AT&T, led by CEO John Stankey, has struck a deal to sell a minority stake in its satellite TV unit DirecTV, AT&T TV and its U-Verse business to private equity firm TPG. The companies will form a new venture, to be called DirecTV, that will own and operate the pay video services.
AT&T TV is streamed over the internet, and DIRECTV is beamed via satellite in the sky. We think AT&T TV is the better choice of the two for TV service because it gives you a lot of essential channels for a lower price than DIRECTV, and there's less equipment to deal with (satellite dishes on the roof are so 2010).
The fact that satellite offers higher HD quality than cable makes it a better choice for anyone with top-tier TV and sound systems. Additionally, satellite providers can tailor packages like those for sports fans who can add on premium sports channels to keep up with their favorite teams all year long.
