Kipchoge was wearing a prototype of the Nike Vaporfly that haven't hit the market yet. If you keep track of the miles you run in each pair, most high-quality running shoes should be replaced between 300 and 500 miles—about four to six months for someone who runs 20 miles per week—though that number is lower for race-day shoes, which are designed to be lighter and faster.

Seems they last about 150 miles for racing (important races) and further 400-600 miles for training. Upper is perfectly fine, but I never had problem with that on any shoes.
The Nike Vaporfly 4% has many other terrific features, but the combination of the Carbon Fiber Plate and the ZoomX Foam is what really gives this shoe it's kick! Suggested use: This shoe has a limited lifespan of 250-300km, and it's not highly recommended to do all of your training in a speed shoe.
Having fresh feet on a run over 20 miles does make a difference. It frees the mind off your otherwise tired feet so that you can focus on more important things – like maintaining your form and pace. Vaporfly 4% for 5K races: The Vaporfly is an excellent long-distance shoe but not a great 5K racer.
THE FLYKNIT WILL STRETCH. The VaporFly Flyknit weighs 7.65 ounces /217 grams for a size 10.5 US and has a 10mm drop. Meaghan: In case you've been living in a cave, the elusive Vaporfly 4% has a version 2, and it comes with a knit upper.
They fit about a half to a full size small; I went up to a 12 from my usual 11.5 in Nike shoes. Like any shoe, it is a good idea to try the Zoom Flys on before purchasing them.
