Daggers are generally considered to be the best weapon type for Sylvando. This is mostly because Sylvando can use dagger skills to apply status effects and Erik can take advantage of them to use finishers more often.

Sylvando is not a weapon user. Sylvando is, in my opinion, the king of the main game, being able to do a lot of things very well. He gets Oomph, a group heal, fantastic AoE's for random encounters, a strong single target attack (That's Amore), and a really good selection of equipment.
Deftness measures the ability of a character to steal an item from an enemy, as well as controlling how frequently a character may perform a critical hit, performing preemptive strikes on enemies, and the ability to escape from battle.
