Call 1-866-794-6166 to activate your receiver with a DISH agent. You will need the Receiver ID and Smart Card ID located on the Activation screen. Once activated, you will see a screen confirming that you activated your Wally successfully. The Install Wizard will then advance to the next screen automatically.
Dish Network signed a deal with Netflix under which new subscribers who take the satcaster's Hopper digital video recorder will receive six months free of the subscription VOD service. The pact isn't as deep as Netflix would like — Dish is not offering Netflix video directly through its set-tops.
The Wally is a satellite television receiver for Dish Network. It is the middle-man between the satellite antenna (the dish) and your television. It takes the signal received from the dish and makes it into the picture you see on the TV screen. That is its most basic function, but modern receivers often do much more.
- To find your signal strength on a Hopper or Wally receiver, go to Menu > Settings > Diagnostics > Dish.
- To find your signal strength on a ViP receiver, go to Menu > System Setup > Installation > Point Dish.

- Press the MENU button two times or the HOME button three times, depending on your remote.
- Select Tools.
- Select UPGRADE SOFTWARE.
- Select Upgrade Now on the confirmation popup. If you already have the latest software version, the receiver will display a message confirming this.
There is absolutely no advantage to owning your own equipment or doing your own installation if you're going to sign a 2 year agreement for service. DISH does have programs that allow you to purchase the equipment and install it yourself. You just have to buy all of the equipment, correctly install it and maintain it.
For customers with more than one residence, Dish has two options available to enjoy service in each location. Set up multiple accounts, or set up what Dish calls a "Snowbird" account to legally obtain service in each dwelling that you occupy throughout the year.

DISH support denies it has 2 tuners and claims that the Wally does not have 2 tuners and cannot record 2 channels.
When prompted, call 800-333-DISH (3474) to activate your receiver with a DISH agent. Note that you will need to provide the receiver and SmartCard numbers shown on-screen to the agent. Your receiver will go through the activation process, which can take up to 15 minutes.

- Unpack the new receiver. Unpack the contents of the box.
- Swap the old and new receivers.
- Connect receiver-to-wall wiring.

The second way is to connect your Hopper to your home Wi-Fi. To do this, from your Hopper's Menu, select the Settings tile and then the Internet tile. Select “Wireless Setup,” and then “Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.” Follow the onscreen prompts to choose your network and enter your network password to establish a connection.

You can only have the DISH Network service to one location at a time. You can move the receiver's to a second location and get service there but it is not to be running simultaneously at a second location at the same time! most of us know it is done all the time.
