It's up to you. If you will play or want to play guitar with whammy bar effects, then get a guitar with a tremolo. If you're playing metal or hard rock, you probably would want one. But not all hard rock and metal players use the whammy bar and a guitar with no whammy is more suitable.
If you would only use it occasionally, then IMO it wouldn't be worth the hassle. But, if you are a hopeful Steve Vai, then it would be. In that price range the hard-tail would probably be better for you. Most of the modern whammy work you are hearing is done with Floyd Rose or other floating trem.
Before attempting to remove it, you'll want to be sure that the tension screw has been backed off enough to allow the whammy bar's removal. If you find that you need to use excessive force to remove the arm, it's likely that the retainer clip has the arm locked firmly into place. Don't worry!
But whammy bars change the pitch of the guitar: when you push on them, the pitch goes down, when you lift on them (as with a floating tremolo), the pitch goes up. A “tremolo arm” (aka a whammy bar) is a vibrato effect. It does not change volume; it change pitch.
No, they don't sound like a traditional Tele, but then again they have the lace sensor pickups and the bridge pickup is a very different configuration. I think that affects the sound/tone more than the bridge/tremolo setup. Overall, however, very nice guitars in my opinion.
8 Answers. A key issue in using the whammy bar occurs when strings become slack and therefore change position in the nut. When the whammy bar is returned to neutral, friction at the nut can prevent the strings from returning to their original, natural state, and this can be a large cause of tuning issues.
it's worth it if you use one, it's not if you don't. it's pretty much as simple as that. EDIT: just make sure you don't get a crap quality locking (or non-locking, but especially locking, as some of the cheapo licensed floyds are horrendous and may put you off trems for life!) trem.

yup. You can dive down as much as you like.
Pictured is a tremolo arm or vibrato tailpiece style bridge and tailpiece system, often called a whammy bar or trem. It uses a lever ("vibrato arm") attached to the bridge that can temporarily slacken or tighten the strings to alter the pitch.
One question many new guitarists ask when buying electric guitars is whether they need a tremolo, trem or whammy bar on their guitar or if a fixed bridge is right for them. This is attached to what is known as the bridge, and the purpose of this bar is to change the pitch of one or more of the strings on the guitar.
It definitely doesn't give you more points on normal sustained notes on this Guitar Hero or any other. However, it might be that whammying on sustained notes that are part of a Star Power sequence might give you double points.
The easiest way to beat him is by keeping all the power-ups until you have three. Then throw the first one, wait until its damage is totally done and proceed with the other two. Throw them when he is doing a big solo, and you'll beat him.

It's a wireless controller that requires a wireless dongle. That can convert the wireless dongle (in theory) to a USB that you can plug into your PC. The PS2 doesn't have any built in wireless like the 360 and later consoles did.
- Many “pro” Guitar Hero players are either seen playing the white Xplorer or the black Les Paul.
- Keep in mind the 360 variation for these controllers are recommended, as there isn't much input lag and feels better overall.
- Majority prefer the Xplorer, as it is a wired USB controller.
- In the end, it's up to you.
