As an RSPCA Inspector, some of tasks you may be involved in, include: Investigating cruelty and neglect complaints. Inspecting animals establishments, such as pet shops and kennels. Advising members of the public on the care of animals.
The RSPCA are obliged to investigate each case reported to them. They will come along and see that the dog is being well cared for and that will be the end of it. Just because they are investigating doesn't mean anything is wrong they just have to make sure the complaint is unfounded. Don't worry about it.

4. In law, you will be a trustee of any funds raised and must ensure that all donations and sponsorship money from your event is paid to the RSPCA. You must inform potential donors if any amount or percentage of the funds you raise will not be paid to the charity.
We work closely with governments, institutions and politicians at all levels and of all political persuasions to secure improvements to animal welfare. We also work closely with our supporters and encourage them to let their elected representatives know their thoughts on some of these key issues.

Inspectors do not have the power to enter property unless they have a reasonable belief that an offence has taken place. Although Inspectors are afforded these powers, in the majority of cases Inspectors will seek to resolve animal welfare issues through the provision of education and advice.

People found guilty of the worst cases of animal cruelty will face up to five years in prison under a new law proposed for England and Wales. A Parliamentary bill from Environment Secretary Michael Gove raises the maximum term from six months.
Criminal penalties range from modest fines to felony prison time. Animal cruelty is a crime everywhere in the U.S. But state laws on the mistreatment of dogs, cats, and other animals vary a great deal. Some states are tough on this crime, while others still have general—and relatively lax—anti-cruelty statutes.
Pet owners may sue the people who purposefully hurt or killed their animals under different legal theories, including conversion, trespass to chattel (an old-school legal term for destroying or interfering with someone else's property), or intentional infliction of emotional distress.

What prosecution powers does the RSPCA have? The RSPCA exercises its right to act as private prosecutor under the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985. The charity has no legal enforcement powers or authority in its own right, so all prosecutions are brought via independent solicitors acting for the RSPCA.
Income at the RSPCA has risen thanks to the increased amount raised through legacies, but the charity made a £6.9m loss in 2018, the latest accounts show. In its accounts for the year to 31 December 2018, the charity brought in £142m, up from £140.9m the year before.
