Kobelco, Case and New Holland are the same as far as excavators Kobelco is making them all. The older New Holland's were made with help from O&K at least that the service rep tells our dealership. New Holland and Case do have seperate backhoe lines that are not involved with anyone else.

They changed their brand name to Case International at first, and then abbreviated that to Case IH. The origin of New Holland Tractors is that it was it's own company until 1947, then was acquired by Sperry corporation in 1947. It was then owned by the same people until 1986 when Ford Motors Company bought them out, and has been owned by Ford ever since.
Yes, for the most part you can buy the same tractor with different paint and hoods. There are a few brand specific models still but they are both owned by Fiat and ran under the CNH name (Case New Holland).
Navistar International Corporation
Massey Ferguson Limited is a multi-national manufacturer of agricultural machinery. The company was established in 1953 through the merger of farm equipment makers Massey-Harris of Canada and the Ferguson Company of the United Kingdom. It was based in Brantford, Ontario, until 1988.
-- New Holland NV, the world's second-biggest farm-equipment maker, said yesterday that it will buy Case Corp. for $4.3 billion in cash to cut costs and compete better with market leader Deere & Co. Fiat SpA, Italy's largest industrial company, owns 69 percent of New Holland and will own 71 percent of the new company.
New Holland Ag also imports LS tractors to resell as LS-New Holland. (They originally had agreements with Fiat, which purchased New Holland. New Holland is a division of CNH Global). LS formerly supplied base models for Montana Tractors, which were then assembled in North America and sold under the Montana brand name.
Amidst a sea of yellow, the Claas Lexion combines are the only farm machines not owned by AGCO on participating Caterpillar lots.
New Holland is owned by CNH. Shibaura makes the engines for the Boomer Series and Case DX serial tractors which is owned by FIAT.

It also has a significantly greater rated engine speed than the Boomer Compact 24 HP (3200 rpm vs. 2700 rpm). With proper usage and adequate maintenance, both Kubota and New Holland tractor reliability are excellent.
