Just how many shades of white are there, you ask? Well, according to Kevin, the paint store helper, there are – and I am just approximating here – 493 – 494 if you include Whitish White (which, in addition to being an actual color, also accurately describes most of my dance moves).

Ice only appears blue when it is sufficiently consolidated that bubbles do not interfere with the passage of light. Without the scattering effect of air bubbles, light can penetrate ice undisturbed. A lack of reflected red wavelengths produces the color blue in the human eye.
It is true; painting interior doors and trim in white or a contrasting color from the walls will make them stand out. However, painting them the same color as the walls will help them to blend in and almost disappear. If you'd like just a bit of contrast, you can go a shade lighter or darker for the trimwork and doors.

If you want a white paint color without any warmth to it, Extra White is also great for trim. Some say that is Sherwin Williams whitest white, or truest white, but it does have a hint of a blue undertone.
Undertones: White Dove is not a true white. They rarely are! It has a creamy undertone that makes it a soft, rich white paint colour to work with for your interior decorating projects.
If you have cream cabinets but no other white in the room, go bisque, or stainless, or black for your appliances depending upon the undertones of your hard surfaces. Also, if you have an open layout with white trim — sorry Charlie, but you can't have cream cabinetry.
“The classic method is to use white for ceiling and trim (baseboards and window and door casings), and then paint the wall a color or hang wallpaper.” But Dixon likes the look of having all the different trim painted the same color as the walls, especially if the room has a lot of ornament or very detailed casings.
Pure White is a very white paint color, but it does have a hint of a gray undertone. This gray undertone serves to ground the paint color, and keeps it from being too stark. Behr Ultra Pure WhiteIf you're looking for a SUPER white – this is your paint colour. With an LRV of 94, Pure White is about as white as you're going to get and is EVEN WHITER than Sherwin Williams High Reflective White…which is pretty darned impressive in my books.
