The hop at Rydell High just got hotter: The Joe Jonas-fronted band DNCE will be the band at Rydell High's school dance in Fox's Grease Live!, according to People.
So, this is happening: Hollywood has found the next iconic pop-culture property to give a prequel to: Grease. Summer Loving, the prequel to the 1978 hit musical directed by Randal Kleiser, is coming from Paramount and Big Fish screenwriter John August. The Hollywood Reporter announced the project Tuesday.
The exterior Rydell scenes, including the basketball, baseball and track segments, were shot at Venice High School in Venice, California, while the Rydell interiors, including the high school dance, were filmed at Huntington Park High School. The sleepover was shot at a private house in East Hollywood.
