There seems to be multiple reasons for it primarily there is no strain relief on Apple Travels, also Apple cables are much thinner compared to the comparable Android charging cables. Additionally, the plastic cladding on the Apple charging cables is also very thin compared to to Android cables.

The similarities between Lightning and USB-C are obvious, but they're not the same thing. Lightning ports are slimmer and more suitable for mobile devices. Despite what the rumors suggest, Apple is not going to replace Lightning ports with USB-C on the iPhone and iPad. UPDATE: 2019 iPad Pro models feature a USB-C port.
Apple's Lightning cables are far more expensive than the micro-USB cables used in everything else. They also used to be your only option to charge your iPhone because all the third-party options were junk.
