Credit Value System. Credit values have been assigned to most courses based on the following definition from the National Transcript Guide: "Credit is the unit of value that expresses the quantity of course work required. One credit hour is usually assigned for each hour which meets per week over a term or session."
The idea for fee is that, it is counted per credit. The logic is, if you take 3 courses and each of them have 3 credits, it means 9 credits. You will have to pay for 9 credit hours.
a full-time year of undergraduate study is normally 120 credits. an Honours degree is normally at least 360 credits. a full-time year of postgraduate study is normally 180 credits, reflecting the 12-month length of most Masters courses.
Grade 8 in UCAS points is worth what an A level would get. A level 60-120 points (?) and grade 8 is about 75, depending on your mark.

What are NVQs? Otherwise known as National Vocational Qualifications, these are work based awards that test your ability to complete a job to a certain required standard.
The QCF is a national framework, referenced to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The EQF is a meta-framework intended as a reference so that qualifications in nation frameworks such as the QCF are understood across member states. (Note that QCF levels 1-3 are equivalent to EQF levels 2-4.)
The QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care has replaced the NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care; it is an internationally recognised qualification, which is the equivalent to a GCSE and the UK industry standard for those working in this sector.

What is a BTEC 'worth'? The qualifications are fully recognised as holding equivalences to GCSEs. For example, a Level 2 BTEC First Diploma is worth the equivalent of 4 GCSEs grade A*-C. This means a student can do a Level 2 BTEC First independently alongside GCSEs, or work towards them both in the same subject area.
GCSEs graded 9 – 1 are designed primarily for students at age 16 in England for the following purposes. To provide evidence of students' achievement against demanding and fulfilling content. To provide a strong foundation for further academic and vocational study and for employment.
An advanced diploma will be equivalent to 3.5 grade A* to E A-levels, while a higher diploma will be worth seven A* to C grade GCSEs.
An Intermediate GNVQ at any level - pass, merit or distinction - is worth the equivalent of four GCSEs at grade C or above. The crucial benchmark for schools is the proportion of pupils getting the equivalent of five such GCSEs.
Qualification Overview
The BTEC First Diploma is a vocational qualification at Level 2. It is the equivalent of 4 GCSE grades 9-6. The course is available from Edexcel and is in many different subjects. One credit represents ten notional hours of learning. For example, a unit with a credit value of 1 indicates a notional learning time of 10 hours, a 2 credit unit indicates a notional learning time of 20 hours and so on.
There actually are simple In Short: For a C (a 4 on the 9–1 scale): 60 hours, For an A* (a 9): 120 hours. There are a few variables here. Firstly there would be which subject the student is being tutored in (or maybe how many GCSEs being taught), and you have already specified the student's ability to be average.
Short course GCSEs
They are comparable to half a full GCSE, but the standard is the same as a full GCSE. They can be taken in half the time which is about three terms. Short courses also allow more able students to take extra subjects, like a second language.
