Google Reviews Tend to Be More Positive
Google's average star rating is 4.3 whereas Yelp holds a measly 3.65. The ReviewTrackers report attributes much of this to ease of use: “What Google and Facebook have going for them: people are always on those sites. That means it's much, much easier for them to leave a review. The semi-bad news is that regardless of whether or not you're a Yelp advertising customer or not, the only way you can get rid of bad Yelp reviews is if the review itself is inappropriate and violates the Yelp TOS (terms of service), in which case you can report the review to yelp and it will be reviewed for possible
Google's reviews are also less social than Yelp's. A Yelper needs a dedicated account (though you can sign up with Facebook), and they're encouraged to make friends, leave more reviews, etc. Generally, Yelpers want their reviews to be seen by others. It's a social thing and it's a recognition thing.
Yelp is still hanging on right now, so depending on perspective it can be relevant. There are benefits to both, Yelp has really built a community and camaraderie with their site, Google is very much sterile still for most users, but there are forums and community opportunities.
Simply put, there is no way to remove your business from Yelp. Users who want to post a review generate the business listing, and while you can claim the listing and manage it in some ways, business owners have limited power over their profile.
Yelp has Trust Issues
After polling more than a thousand users, Brightlocal found that 85% of people trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. Meanwhile, 73% of consumers also said they trust a business more if they have positive reviews. Because Yelp's trust issues are much more public. Who invented yelp?

Yelp is meant to provide an honest indication of which businesses perform well and which ones don't. As such, you're not meant to be able to make money from it. Regardless, many people do. Though Yelp doesn't like it, companies will pay for reviews to help boost their reputation.
Most likely, this is due to the fact that Yelp is the incumbent and has much more aggressive filtering to protect the credibility of their reviews. But Yelp actually has far more 5 and 4 star reviews than they do 1 and 2 star reviews.
Yelp Elite is entirely worth it! Small effort (fill out a profile and apply for elite status online), for a great reward (meet new people, eat great food, try new places). Even if you don't want to do anything with your status but brag, then, by all means, it's your choice!
No one can punish you for good review even if it is fake. It's not really illegal since there are so many people doing it.. Fake Review Not Problem But Need Different Different IP For Work. Slander is illegal so if you're leaving negative feedback and lying in the process then yes it's immoral and illegal.
Sometimes they look at the number of Elites vs regular users! Soooooo, although not published directly by Yelp, the number of Elites appears to be about 4% OF USERS! I saw one chart that as of 2015 showed the number of Elites at about 15,000. That really does make Elites elite!
My roommate had become a Yelp Elite a few months before, and glorified the title with talk of exclusive events with free food and a community of like-minded foodies.

The Yelp Elite Squad is our way of recognizing people who are active in the Yelp community and role models on and off the Yelp site. Members of this influential and diverse community of writers, photographers, and adventurers are bestowed with a colorful Elite badge on their Yelp profile.
But you don't need to pay to use it! Business owners can get free Yelp review pages and those rank (from a search engine optimization perspective) just as well as the paid for pages. This means you'll get traffic regardless!
Getting the Elite designation involves being very active on the Yelp community. A person striving for Elite will probably need to write at least 40 high-quality reviews per year, add a good number of friends and actively interact with other Yelpers.
Now, you can get paid to write reviews by sharing your opinion on the Internet.

You lose business because they filter out the good reviews and keep the bad ones. Big businesses are less likely to have to rely on Yelp reviews as people know who they are — but small businesses may live and die by Yelp reviews.
To get to 80% you would need four 5-stars. Ninety percent wold take nine 5-stars. It's logarithmic, so each new star has less impact since it is less of the total… So the good news is that you can get to non-disastrous 80% with just four 5-star reviews.
