Availability — The Towson University Admissions Office offers the following merit-based scholarships to freshman and transfer students who have demonstrated academic excellence. Upon admission to the program, the student must meet with the assigned adviser to plan a program of study. Two letters of recommendation, preferably letters that speak to writing experience and capability (Email addresses of recommenders must be entered on application).
Due to the circumstances prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, UMBC has adopted a test-optional admission program for the 2021 application cycle. Early in 2021, we will evaluate what future applicants to the University will be required to submit as part of the application review process.
To be considered for transfer, students must complete a minimum of 12 units of transferable college-level work and be in good academic standing prior to the start of the semester at Towson University for which they have applied.
Students who are interested in Towson should apply by December 1st for non-binding Early Action, especially if they are interested in the Honors College. The majority of acceptances come through Early Action.
