Permanent Residency Status (PRS) will be granted to a foreign investor making an investment of minimum of Rs. 10 crores to be brought within 18 months or Rs. 25 crores to be brought within 36 months under FDI route and resulting in employment for at least 20 resident Indians in every financial year.
As things stand, scheduled commercial international air travel is suspended by the Indian government at least till 31 December. Airlines are however allowed to operate all-cargo international flights, repatriation flights, charter flights and flights under bubble agreement with as many as 22 countries, without the UK.
All U.S. citizens need a valid passport and valid Indian visa to enter and exit India for any purpose (also see Special Circumstances section below). Many visitors, including those on official U.S. government business, must apply for visas at an Indian embassy or consulate abroad before entering the country.
A T-1 visa is a Tourist Visa for individual tourists. Once the visa is issued, nobody is worried about how it is used as long as it is used for tourism.
Tourist Visa can only be granted to a foreigner who does not have a residence or occupation in India and whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sight seeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives, etc. Government of India has launched the Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVOA) Scheme .

The government has now decided to make a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for more categories of foreign nationals and Indian nationals who wish to enter or leave India.
