Christmas is not a public holiday in Mainland China. The commercial Christmas has become a major annual event in the major cities in China. On the streets and in department stores, there are Christmas trees, lights, and decorations. There is a festive atmosphere, and people enjoy the decorations and unusual music.
Chinese New Year is a public holiday in countries where it is celebrated. During the Chinese New Year holiday, all factories close and employees go on holiday for at least two weeks. All production will come to a halt, and you won't be able to get in touch with the factories until after the holiday ends.

Italian kids enjoy the longest summer holiday in Europe with a generous 13 weeks off, followed by Greece and Portugal with 12 weeks each. Kids in the UK, Denmark and Germany have the worst deal with a mere six weeks of summer holidays each.
