Delhi metro: Services on Yellow Line to be affected today. Train services at two metro stations will be curtailed today in view of the Beating Retreat Ceremony at Vijay Chowk, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said. 1 only from 2 pm to 4pm while rest of the gates will remain closed during this period, DMRC said.
On the directions of the Delhi Police, four Metro stations – Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan and Race Course were closed from 9 AM onwards today. The entry and exit to the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations remain closed as directed by the Delhi Police.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in June that his government proposed to make metro and bus travel free for women in the national capital and the plan would be implemented within two-three months. The move by Delhi government came ahead of the Assembly election scheduled early next year.
Currently, no discount on fares is offered for any category of passengers on the Delhi Metro. "We are ready with technology-based solution to provide relief to students and senior citizens travelling on metro trains. The central government will implement it appropriately," Puri said.
While Bus services have been made free for women, the free metro rides promise remains unfulfilled. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that his party will make bus rides free for students if it returns to power after the Assembly elections scheduled to be held soon.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government, on October 29, which is when the capital celebrated Bhai Dooj, rolled out the free ride scheme for women in public buses. The scheme will allow women to travel free in DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) and cluster buses.
