In general you don't pay anything extra for updates required to fix any bugs or make your apps compatible with the latest iOS/Android versions. All maintenance updates are included in your subscription fees.
Second Method
- Step 1: Create a Hotspot and connect to the web. To get the iOS update without using a WiFi connection, you need to first create a Hotspot from your iPhone.
- Step 2: Utilize iTunes on your Mac.
- Step 3: Check for update.
- Step 4: Install the update via iTunes.
Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update. Tap Download and Install. If a message asks to temporarily remove apps because the software needs more space for the update, tap Continue or Cancel.
You can upgrade your iOS device via an over-the-air update or through iTunes on a Mac or PC. You'll need to make sure you have enough space, so if it is limited an iTunes back up will make do. Just plug your iPhone or iPad into your computer, select back up this device when it appears in iTunes.

4It's Hard to Downgrade if You Don't Like ItOne of those risks is data loss. Complete and total data loss, mind you. If you download iOS 14 on your iPhone, and something goes wrong, you'll lose all of your data downgrading to iOS 13.7. You can make a backup of iOS 13.7 with iTunes or Finder before updating to iOS 14.
Verdict: We recommend updatingonce it works as advertised. The expected app compatibility issues seem less disruptive than anticipated, and older devices have shown no detectable drop in performance on the new OS.
With each new iOS upgrade comes a slew of new security improvements called “patches” that will help protect your iPhone from digital bad guys like hackers and malware and memory corruption flaws. If you don't upgrade, you won't have the latest version, which means your phone is totally susceptible.
Though Apple's iOS updates are not suppose to delete any user information from the device, exceptions arise. To bypass this threat of losing information, and to quell any anxiety that may accompany that fear, back up your iPhone before doing an update.

Apple's iPhone 6 from 2014 and older iPhone models won't be getting iOS 13 when it rolls out on September 19. That's a decent reason to upgrade if you have the iPhone 6 or older, as it means you won't get the latest features and improvements that come with new versions of iOS.
In the past, this has been a fairly reliable indicator of how each phone will actually feel in day-to-day use. In general, iOS 13 running on these phones is almost imperceptibly slower than the same phones running iOS 12, though in many cases performance breaks just about even.
If you are on a Wi-Fi network, you can upgrade to iOS 11 right from your device itself -- no need for a computer or iTunes.
