The Google Docs FAQ states that users retain all ownership rights to their own materials. Google says it included the section as a way to ensure Google Docs can do what it's designed to do. In order to display user's files the way the user wishes, Google must secure an agreement between the company and the user.
Step 1: Download the Google Docs app
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play app .

This is available for PC, Android, and iOS, but we're focusing on desktop here. Although there is no standalone Google Docs application you can download, you can in fact enable offline use of Docs through your Chrome browser. All you need to do is install this official Google Chrome extension.

LibreOffice Writer, like OpenOffice, is a completely free and open-source product that offers word processing, support for . doc and . docx file formats, and all the tools the average Microsoft Word user will need in a word processor.When you use Google Docs, everything you type is saved as you edit. If you're offline, it will save locally and then sync the next time you establish a connection. If you're concerned with the data usage, I would just do it offline and let it sync over Wi-Fi.

Google today significantly dropped the prices for its Google Drive online storage service. The first 15GB of storage remain free, but 100GB now costs just $1.99 per month instead of $4.99. Even more impressively, though, you can now get a terabyte of online storage for $9.99 a month, down from $49.99.

Zoho impressed us with their most recent offering. Zoho Writer is as good as or better than Google Docs and Word Online. Zoho's spreadsheets (Reports) and presentations (Show) apps also include most features any user would want. We actually reckon Zoho Show is among the best free PowerPoint alternatives.Google Docs costs nothing to use; all you need is a Google account, and you're ready to go. Office, on the other hand, comes as either a 2016 software suite or a monthly subscription to Office 365.
