The most popular general system for plagiarism detection is Turnitin[3]. One of my professors has created a system that uses compiler techniques to detect plagiarism. That is, it does not look at the actual code at all.
To answer your previous question: yes, Turnitin can definitely detect copy and paste. If your paper has content copied from elsewhere that was not properly referenced, Turnitin will find it. They ask themselves 'Can Turnitin detect my own work? ' and they will take an old paper from another course and hope it sticks.
MOSS is a plagiarism detection algorithm that is exceptionally complex. In its raw form, it is an AI that analyzes code line by line and compares it to other's work. Tricking it will be VERY hard.
How to comment Code: Primarily, a single "block" comment should be placed at the top of the function (or file) and describe the purpose the code and any algorithms used to accomplish the goal. In-line comments should be used sparingly, only where the code is not "self-documenting".
Never scalp a lawn too short. This will weaken the grass and leave the soil open to moss invasion. Where moss is a problem, leave the grass so that it is at least 2.5cm (1in) long at all times. Mow regularly (at least once a week) to encourage the spread of grass.

You don't need to memorize codes. There are plenty of references available on the Internet that will provide them, should you find the knowledge of them necessary. You don't need to memorize code; you can write it once and store it on your computer's disk for later retrieval.
Find the lines of HTML you want to copy. Press "Ctrl-A" to select the entire document, or click and drag through it with your pointing device to select part of the code. Press "Ctrl-C" to copy the selection to the clipboard.
the short answer is that very few developers use a code-generation tool (generates shit code, mostly) but almost all developers make extensive use of ready-to-go style and widget libraries.
To Paste: Press down the CTRL key with one finger and hold it down, then press the letter V with another finger, and then let both go. CTRL-V is the Paste shortcut key combination.
Plagiarized ideas or concepts, or paraphrasing
Turnitin does not flag essays that include plagiarized ideas or concepts, nor can it detect paraphrasing that dramatically changes the wording of an original source while maintaining that source's organization.Final thoughts on paraphrasing tools
It is not a copout and it is definitely not a form of cheating. Writers have to produce large amounts of content and time is always a concern. If this tool can get it done at a faster pace, you should give it a chance. Most cases of plagiarism are considered misdemeanors, punishable by fines of anywhere between $100 and $50,000 — and up to one year in jail. Plagiarism can also be considered a felony under certain state and federal laws.
Steps
- Avoid submitting the same paper to different instructors.
- Review your existing work on a topic before writing a new text.
- Avoid copying and pasting from one paper to another.
- Talk to your instructor before using previous work in an academic setting.
When using someone else's work, you can either quote or paraphrase it to prevent plagiarism. However, if you do credit the original author correctly using an in-text citation or footnote citation and include the full source in the reference list, then you do not commit plagiarism.
You can't plagiarize yourself. Plagiarism is about passing off someone else's work as your own. Reusing work is not the same thing at all, but is a separate issue -- and one that doesn't really seem to be much of a problem once you think about it.
My understanding is that the toughest standard regarding plagiarism is the "five (consecutive) word" rule, which holds that, if there are five consecutive words identical to someone else's writing, then you are guilty of plagiarism.
How to paraphrase in five steps
- Read the passage several times to fully understand the meaning.
- Note down key concepts.
- Write your version of the text without looking at the original.
- Compare your paraphrased text with the original passage and make minor adjustments to phrases that remain too similar.
You could, if you wish, mention that 'this' paper is using your previous paper for 'old class' as a base. It isn't plagiarism to re-use your OWN material. Yes, it is called self-plagiarism. There is a fundamental rule that you cannot get marks twice for the same piece of work.
Paraphrasing without crediting the original author is considered plagiarism and therefore has serious consequences. In order to avoid plagiarism, you must always cite the source in the correct citation format; otherwise, you are presenting something as your own work, even though it's not.
If it's one original sentence, yes, it's plagiarism. It is not considered plagiarism to re-use sentences that have been used, word for word, by many people, over and over again.
