Rubies are the currency in Origin Realms, similar to emeralds with vanilla villagers. You would buy items at Origin Isles from NPCs, such as buying flowers from Lily. Robin Banks, over at Ruby Exchange, is the banker for rubies; he gives you 13 Rubies to start out on Origin Isles.
