The Kawasaki KX 250F is a liquid-cooled DOHC 249 cc (15.2 cu in) four-valve four-stroke single motocross motorcycle made by Kawasaki. The first year of the KX250F was 2004 and it saw immediate success in Supercross and Motocross racing capturing the East/West SX championships as well as the national MX title.
Rm = Racing Machine. Kx = Kawasaki X'er (pronounced Crosser) Yz = Yamaha Zinger.
Throttle-body injection, as used on modern motocross bikes since the release of the 2008 Suzuki RM-Z450, was introduced to aircraft engines in the 1940s and to automobiles in the 1980s. Throttle body injection simply replaces the carburetor in its old location with fuel injetcion.

For 2012, Kawasaki engineers sought to create a KX250F with even more impressive top-end performance, which they accomplished by equipping its Digital Fuel Injection (DFI®) system with a second fuel injector –a first for use on production motocross bikes– located near the airbox intake.
The KX450F's Digital Fuel Injection (DFI®) automatically adjusts to suit track and climate conditions, and offers stable fuel metering even when landing from jumps in tough motocross conditions. The 2011 KX450F's D-shaped aluminum swingarm features a cross section with narrow ribs and thin walls.
The digital fuel injection (DFI) remains unchanged. The KX250F is the only motocross bike to use two injectors to handle the job of feeding fuel to the engine. Kawasaki boasts that the DFI fuel flow capacity is roughly 20 percent greater than on the KX450F.

The KX100 feels like it has more torque out of corners than the KX85. Throttle response wasn't quite as good on the 100 but it seemed to pull out of loamy berms and deep, ripped sections of the track better than the 85.
