Currently, Quebec's child assistance program gives parents between $682 and $2,430 a year for their first child and between $630 and $1,214, per child, for a second and third child. All those rates are set to rise slightly in January, in addition to the new payments for second and third children.

Your Age and Your Residency Status Affect Your EligibilityYou must live in Québec and be at least 18 years old or an emancipated minor. You must be either a Canadian citizen, an Indigenous person, a permanent resident, a refugee, or a refugee claimant.
A tax-free monthly payment to families to help them meet the needs of their children under the age of 18. This payment may include the Child Disability Benefit and benefits from provincial or territorial programs.
Child benefit is a monthly payment for anyone with parental responsibilities for children under the age of 16. It's worth claiming if you aren't already, as it can be worth over £17,000 over the years – or more if you've two or more children.
The maximum Canada child benefit you could get is $6,765 per year for children under 6, and $5,708 per year for children aged 6 to 17. Your Canada child benefit is based on your family income from the previous year, the number of children in your care, and the age of your children.
The Family Allowance payment is a form of financial assistance paid to all eligible families with one or more dependent children under the age of 18. The supplement for the purchase of school supplies.

Main minimum criteria related to the person
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

A family with two children can claim more than £1,800 a year in Child Benefit. In the 2021-22 tax year, you can claim: £21.15 per week for your first child. £14 a week for any further children.
There are two rates of child benefit. The allowance for an only child or the eldest child is £20.70 a week. For any additional children, the rate drops to £13.70 a week per child. Child benefit is typically paid ever four weeks on either a Monday or Tuesday.
If you haven't got your paymentYour payments may have stopped because: you haven't told the Child Benefit Office your bank has changed or about your child's education plans after they turn 16. you haven't replied to a letter from the Child Benefit Office. your child now lives with someone else.
And in 1945 the Family Allowance was introduced to provide benefit for second and subsequent children. And between 1977 and 1979, child benefit replaced the Family Allowance and Child Tax Allowance.
Your Child Benefit stops on 31 August on or after your child's 16th birthday if they leave education or training. It continues if they stay in approved education or training, but you must tell the Child Benefit Office. You'll be sent a letter in your child's last year at school asking you to confirm their plans.
Family Tax Benefit (FTB) is a payment that helps eligible families with the cost of raising children. FTB Part A – is paid per-child and the amount paid is based on the family's circumstances. FTB Part B – is paid per-family and gives extra help to single parents and some couple families with one main income.
There is an allowable amount of income that you can earn before you must start paying taxes. That is called the “basic personal” or “personal amount.” For the 2020 tax year, the Federal Basic Personal Amount (BPA) is $13,229, while the Quebec Basic Personal Amount is $15,532.

Employment Insurance benefits are subject to source deductions of Québec income tax.
Social Assistance payments are paid to low-income or no income Canadians to offset the cost of basic living needs. These benefits are reported in Box 11 of the T5007 statement of benefits slip. Although these payments affect your eligibility for other federal and provincial benefits, they are not taxable.
Taxes. Good news: Lottery winnings are not taxable! Therefore, no federal or provincial taxes are payable on actual winnings.
The best example of this is probably the personal exemption amount. For 2020, it's set at $13,229. When this amount is multiplied by the lowest federal income tax rate of 15%, it means that you won't pay income tax on the first $13,229 of income you earn.

Quebec offers $17 billion, or 26 per cent, more in services than Ontario, while its GDP is 14 per cent less, they observed. That means even though Quebec is poorer, it spends far more. Quebec's gross debt stood at $151 billion last fiscal year, or 49.9 per cent of its GDP.

The Low Income Measure defines low income as being below a fixed percentage of income. A household is considered low income if its income is below 50% of median household incomes. It is, therefore, a relative measure of low income.
The solidarity tax credit is a refundable tax credit for low- and middle-income families. Since it is based on your situation on December 31 of the previous year, the amount of your credit for the period from July 2021 to June 2022 will be based on your situation on December 31, 2020.
You must fill out a request with Retraite Québec if:
- You adopt a child;
- You're an immigrant or become a resident of Quebec;
- Your child arrives in or returns to Quebec;
- You live in Quebec, but your child was born outside Quebec;
- You obtain custody of a child;
- You obtain shared custody of a child;
