Potential Problems of Cracked Back GlassIn some cases, the cracks don't affect the operation of the phone. You can still tap and swipe on the screen with no problems and the iPhone can still connect to wireless signals just fine. That doesn't mean it's okay to use that way though.
This means that if you don't have AppleCare+, you're still going to be paying big bucks to get the rear glass on your iPhone fixed — it comes under other damage and comes in at $449 for an iPhone 12, or $399 for an iPhone 12 mini.
Baking soda. A folk remedy circulating online suggests a paste made from two parts baking soda to one part water can fix screens. Just make a thick paste and then use a cloth to rub it in. This should cover up the problem for a while.
Stop Worrying About Repair CostsApple charges anywhere from $349 – $599 to repair the broken back glass on iPhone models 8-11 Pro Max*. They don't consider the back glass to fall under their more affordable “screen replacement” repair, which makes this type of fix much more expensive.
Apple Now Able to Repair an iPhone 12 Pro's Cracked Rear Glass Without Replacing the Entire Device. Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers have access to a new "iPhone Rear System" part that is essentially an iPhone enclosure that includes all components except the display and rear camera.
The back is covered with the same glass as last year's iPhone 11, which Apple says is the toughest in the industry. All four models of the iPhone 12 (iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max) have the same ceramic shield on the screen and the same type of glass on the back.

AppleCare is Apple's term for its warranty programs. Every Apple device comes with a certain stretch of AppleCare warranty service and phone/chat support for free, typically one year for the warranty and 90 days of phone support. You can pay to extend that protection for longer, which is called AppleCare+.

First, there is no back cover. The iPhone 7 uses a single block of machined aluminum to form the phone body which houses the components and mounts the display. Apple does not offer cosmetic only repairs and never has.
Design and display. The iPhone 12 features a flat-edged design with aluminum edges. The iPhone 12 mini packs a 5.4-inch display while the iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch display. Compared to the iPhone 11, the 2020 iPhone is 11% thinner and 15% smaller in volume.
