At the moment, the game does not have local multiplayer support. You can play singleplayer, in private lobbies with friends, or Quickplay with strangers, but you can't play split-screen local multiplayer at the moment.

Risk of Rain 2 is a multi-platform hit, having its home on PC, Xbox, Nintendo and PS4. Well, Risk Of Rain 2 is not available for Mac, but only for Microsoft Windows and the rest of the consoles.
The consoles connect directly to each other wirelessly, allowing you to play together in private matches even if there is no internet connection or local WiFi available. You can find this feature by going to the Main Menu > select Play > Play Local > and then choosing to Join Local Lobby or Host Local Lobby.

With its 1.0 release, Risk of Rain 2 has a final stage and a final boss: Mithrix. You'll take him on in a suitably epic arena, and the short version of how to win the fight is this: Don't let Mithrix hit you with his giant hammer.

The game has roughly 10 levels with countless enemies that spawn. These range from little critters to deadlier (and larger) foes. The goal in each Risk of Rain 2 level is to make it to the teleporter (allowing you to reach yet another zone).

Three-dimensional sequel Risk Of Rain 2 has just launched into early access, and is already doubling down on the multipliers, as players who pick it up by midnight PST on March 30th will get a second copy to share with a friend.
