Call FedEx at 800-463-3339 to request the company reroute a package. You can have the package rerouted to a different street address in the same city, from its place on hold at one FedEx location to another or from hold at a FedEx location to a delivery.
edit: fedex will still deliver your package on the Saturday if you requires them to. But because most of their packages are actually delivered early in 2-3 days ahead of the delivery guarantee many vendors use it and claim "2/3" day delivery and just refund customers when it takes longer.

USPS Priority Mail Express is a guaranteed way to send documents and packages to a destination overnight or in one to two days on any day of the year, including Sundays and holidays. If the US Postal Service doesn't deliver your package on time, they will refund the full delivery cost to you.
Fedex Express normally delivers business packages until 3pm in most areas and residential packages until 430pm - except in what is called the “PM” areas which are further away in which case everything is delivered until 430pm.
For shipping packages less than two lbs., USPS is usually cheaper than Fedex. When it comes to shipping parcels greater than two lbs., FedEx can be more cost-effective than USPS, offering cheaper rates. The ideal time when Priority Overnight attempts delivery is around 10:30 AM. Whereas, First Overnight delivers around 8:30 AM, and Standard Overnight by 3:00 PM. Coming to the cost of shipping, Priority Overnight is cheaper than First Overnight but costlier than Standard Overnight.FedEx Priority Overnight offers next business day delivery within the U.S. Priority Overnight delivers by 10:30 A.M. to most U.S. addresses, by 5 P.M. to remote areas at the edges of their service area, and by 1:30 P.M. on Saturdays.
At exactly 2 lbs, FedEx/UPS is slightly cheaper. Above 2 lbs, the USPS medium flat rate box is slightly cheaper than FedEx or UPS Ground. If your item is heavier than 5 lbs, try to fit everything into a USPS flat rate large box. Otherwise, Fedex and UPS will be cheaper for heavier packages.
Does UPS / FedEx usually deliver packages within their expected delivery time window? The answer (for FedEx Express) is no. If your package is scheduled to be delivered by 10:30AM on Monday, FedEx will reattempt when convenient Tuesday (and Wednesday if necessary).
FedEx SameDay City (Standard)
Standard service schedules your packages for delivery within 4 hours. For delivery to businesses or residences* by 8 p.m. the same day that you request service, your packages must be ready no later than 4 p.m. (available for deliveries up to 45 miles).Both FedEx and UPS workers are strongly encouraged to work with law enforcement and report any packages that smell or look like drugs. Drug detection systems can detect marijuana by sensing volatile molecules that seep out of containers. X-Ray scanners can pick up images that detect organic matter such as marijuana.
Ground shipping via UPS and FedEx takes about 1 to 5 business days depending on the distance the package has to travel. If shipping from one coast to the other, count on around 5 business days. Shipping within the same state your looking at 1 day for most states, 1-2 possibly for large states like Texas and California.
Other than time-definite air deliveries, shipments are generally delivered anytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (and sometimes later) to residences, and by close of business for commercial addresses.

Yes, and Saturday is a Standard Delivery Day at FedEx, meaning it's essentially en extra business day for their customers. Therefore, FedEx can often times be faster, especially when you're waiting for a delivery over the weekend, because rather than wait until Monday, FedEx can deliver it on Saturday.
