Far Cry New Dawn is a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5 that was released on February 15, 2019. The game is set seventeen years after the events of Far Cry 5 and follows the survivors of a nuclear war as they attempt to rebuild their community.The sequel nature of New Dawn is now confirmed, but, Ubisoft clarifies, it's not an official Far Cry 6 release. Ubisoft clarified Seed didn't trigger a bomb, but correctly predicted The Collapse, which took the form of all-out nuclear war.

New dawn feels like a totally new game and it is much much better than far cry 5. You should buy Far Cry 5 first because it's main title and also prequel to New Dawn and after completion of the story, go for New Dawn.
New Dawn uses an altered portion of Far Cry 5's open-world Montana setting, telling a tighter, better story in the process. The post-apocalyptic trappings in New Dawn work much better as a justification for the usual Far Cry shenanigans than those in Far Cry 5 did.
Far Cry Primal is definitely worth buying. Personally, I find it the best Far Cry game to date – it's one of my personal favorite video games of all time. No, Far Cry New Dawn is not DLC for Far Cry 5. It is a standalone Far Cry game. Even though you can download it (as well as buy it on a disc), it does not require that you own any other Far Cry game to play, despite the fact that it initially seems like an expansion.

Far Cry 5 releases on 27 February for PlayStation, Windows 10 and the Xbox One. Discalimer: The demo I played was from an earlier build of Far Cry 5, which is why I haven't gone into more detail about the graphics and other build-specific features.
It isn't essential but I'd say it's worth it for the context at least. In my opinion, far cry new Dawn is much much much better than far cry 5 and even 4. The gameplay is really good and fun. If FC 5 was your kind of game, then ND is a good buy.

I'd recommend farcry 5 and after that farcry 1, then 2. Well each of Far Cry game they don't relate each other in terms of story, so basically you can start with any series you want. But, I recommend you to begin yourself in Far Cry 5 because from the gameplay perspective, they are seems similar.
The dog in question is called Timber, and he's a resourceful little feller. He'll sniff out enemies and loot, pull weapons and shields from foes, and outright kill those who stand in your way.
