Why do I need to register to use All 4? All 4 is a free-to-view video on demand service but we do require users register their details to watch. Registration is free and gives access to all of Channel 4's latest shows and unlocks access to an extensive archive of classic programmes and downloads to watch offline.
All of the shows we offer on My5 are free to watch, including those from our archive. You can watch shows as many times and on as many devices as you wish, for as long as they're available.

You need a TV Licence to download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand. This applies to any device and provider you use, including: Freeview, Freesat or YouView. Sky, Virgin Media or BT TV.
You'll find us on channel 117 and our HD channel on 140 with Sky and on channel 7 via Freeview.
It's not all good news, though: there's still no update on when (or even if) these 2020 TVs will get ITV Hub, All 4 and My5. In fact, LG's 2019 TVs all shipped with all of these apps, thanks to LG's partnership with Freeview Play.

How do I get Freeview Play?

You can install a range of free catch up services such as BBC iPlayer and Channel 4's All4, as well as subscription apps like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime, and a whole host of niche channel apps and even free vintage movie apps. These devices will need access to the internet to work.
If you're residing in the US, then you will need to choose your VPN or DNS proxy server, ExpressVPN for example. Once the VPN is downloaded, you should head over channel 4 and start watching. If you're finding that you can't watch the content you want live, then apps like TVPlayer can be tremendously helpful.
Re: How to get HD on iPlayer and All4? Channel 4 do not stream in HD. Within the iPlayer settings menu there is an option for picture quality, you need to select HD as the default.
Enable YouView on Sony Bravia TV

The other free to air TV system in Ireland which officially launched in Oct 2010 is called Saorview. This is the name for the domestic free to air TV channels ie. RTE1, RTE2, TV3, 3e, TG4, RTE News Now. You will need a Digital TV receiver to pick these up.

If your TV is not smart (does not have internet capability) you can connect TV to the internet via the streaming device such as Apple TV or Google Chromecast. These boxes are streaming online TV as well as free to air TV programs from the antenna. You do not need a TV antenna to stream from the internet.
