I'm using a Wyze Pan Cam outside mounted to garage. It is not under a soffit or overhang. It has the silicone case and it's been up since last summer and NO ISSUES! This camera works just fine in any weather.
It supports infrared night vision at up to 25 feet, has an 8x digital zoom, and it's IP65 water resistant, meaning it'll survive the spray of rainwater but not a powerful jet. Like Wyze's other cameras, the Wyze Cam Outdoor can continuously record to microSD cards or record to the cloud without a paid subscription.
The Wyze camera works without the Internet as long as you work on the setup first and disconnect it from the WiFi and use a micro SD card for recording. You just need to power the camera up and place it into the position to record what you want.
Buy one of those light socket adapters and replace an outdoor light bulb with this. You then plug the Wyze camera adapter into this socket adapter. To fit you may need the real simple ones with just the electrical socket and not the ones that come with two electrical sockets and a light socket.
Yes, the Wyze Camera can be hacked and somebody can have access to the live video of your home or office. The idea of this article is to help you to understand what the camera's vulnerabilities are and how to reduce the risk of the camera not authorized access (A.K.A. hacking). You've been warned.
As alluded to above, you can create two separate Wyze accounts on two different email addresses. Log the app into one of them and set up the first camera. Then log out and log into the 2nd email to set up the 2nd camera.
There is no limit. I am currently have 14 Wyzecams set up in the app. If I were you, I would limit my first order to 1 or 2 cameras and make sure that they work in the locations you want to use your cameras in.
Method: Use the wyzecam or tinycam app on your phone, view the camera and chrome-cast a mirror of your screen to your TV. Cons: Requires you to use your phone for only the wyze or tinycam app, so you can't use it for anything else while you're viewing on the TV.
